Beginning tomorrow, November 1st, dismissal traffic will be permitted to enter the parking lot from both the north and the south University Drive entrances (by the Retory and by the Church). Cars will merge into one line by the gazebo (in the same way as morning drop off). By doing this, we hope to eliminate the periodic backups on University Drive.
On Monday, October 31st, students may wear moderate Halloween-themed accessories with their regularly scheduled uniform. These may include hats, headbands, socks, bracelets, etc. No costumes, hair coloring, masks, face painting or nail polish.
Class photos will be taken on Thursday, October 27th. All students must wear their school uniform that day. Students who were absent for the original picture day, or students whose parents requested a retake will also be photographed.
Please join us on Saturday, October 29 from 6-10 PM in the gymnasium. Advanced ticket sales on Friday morning at drop off, Aftercare, and the Development office. Tickets cost $8 single/$20 family. There will be tickets available at the door for $10 single/$25 family. We do need snack and beverage donations. Please email Denise Rich with the items you would like to donate at Bebe38382000@yahoo.com.
Students can wear a red shirt with their PE shorts on Monday, October 24th to
celebrate Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated annually across the United States to bring drug awareness and prevention to the public eye.
Our Walk-a-thon will take place on Friday, October 21, 2011. Remember that there will be parking at 321 North (The parking lot across University Drive) all day, and there will be a bus to bring you safely across University Drive.
Car number for first dismissal will be read starting at 2:05pm. Only first dismissal cars will be allowed in the loading area. All second dismissal cars will be asked to park in the visitor lot until 2:35pm. We encourage all first dismissal cars (yellow) to arrive before 2:35 pm. Second dismissal cars (blue) will be allowed to enter the loading area by 2:35 pm.
We stop reading cars by 3:05 pm, at which time we ask that you park in front of the Parish Center and wait for your students to arrive at the Parish Center.
Please keep in mind that the warning bell for first dismissal students rings at 2:20 pm. At that time teachers will start releasing students from the classrooms into their zones. For second dismissal, the warning bell rings at 2:50 pm. The car lines will begin moving to pick up from the zones at 2:55 pm.
This means that regardless of time you arrive at the parking lot, your child(ren) cannot come out of the classroom until their corresponding bells rings. Please remember that our upper grades are in instructional time until 2:50 pm. The lower grade siblings may be released and directed to their zones prior to 2:50 pm.
