SGS students in 6th, 7th & 8th grade worked together to create“emergency” bags for foster kids. The duffels are filled with daily essentials like shampoo and soap, and also with items like stuffed animals and blankets, to remind these children they are loved.
There are approximately half a million children in the U.S. in foster care. These kids live in temporary homes with foster parents because their own homes have been determined unsafe. Children range in age from newborn infants to teenagers. They often arrive to their foster home with nothing more than the clothes on their back.
